Way Back...seriously?

School Picture Day... also known as "Man, I am looking cool today but not when I look at these pictures later" day

(and I tried to stay semi in order, but I get a little off...bear with it, and hello, be thankful, here is more than 10 instances where my fashion..er, I don't know that I'd call it sense, is in true form!)

ok, I serisouly remember thinking this was the coolest shirt and short set EVER... I mean, hello, it had ANTS on it!

I call this, forgot to tell Mom is was picture day.
oh, where do I even start? We got to bring in our own "prop"... I thought I'd be all not girly and bring a football, because, well, I don't know other than I remember thinking it would be cool. But that straight brim hat and Kelly's Kids outfit in the 5th grade...ROCKIN'!

why am I wearing the sweater of an 80 year old? Holy moly, and I thought that sweater was making me look "grown!"
ok, here's where we back track a little...
Mama made this shirt!

y'all, you just don't know how much it makes my Mama happy to have a mailbox in a photo.
Junior year... I think

and we backtrack some more...
thought this was the coolest dress/vest pair EVER

and final... Senior Portrait...

Y'all, I mean it now, if my clothes that I am wearing NOW are as bad as some of these... PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING GOOD AND FASHIONABLE...T.E.L.L. M.E.

Way Back...

Happy Huntin' Season...
surely this is a Southern ritual as there is no way we were actually hunting at this age.

And let it be know, that was the only time anything Tiger related was a favorite part of my wardrobe.

That is all I have to say about that

the year I flunked cheerleading tryouts

Ok, so in South Georgia, the sooner you fall in love with football, the better.

The earliest you could start playing football (or cheering for football) was 3rd grade & 4th grade (B-team) and 5th & 6th grade (A-team). However, every summer was a cheerleading camp starting at age 4 and up...So we geared up and got to cheering...

 Side pony t-shirt...I think so!
 Homemade cheerleading uniform...check
Old enough to make the cut
wait...this one is not like the others.

ok, so, I decided being a watergirl was a much better option than cheering one year. I mean, you got your own jersey for crying out loud. And, back then, the boys would give their jerseys away on Friday to their "girl friends" and so if you didn't have a boyfriend to get on, this ENSURED that you had one. Also, you got to be on the sidelines. And run through the run through sign. And I may or may not have purposely not really put a lot of effort into my cheerleading tryouts so I could get a jersey.

Good thing its too late for Mama to punish me for that now! : )

Splish, Splash

So, I'm definitely a child of the '90s... this week is one of the definitive weeks of 90s fashion.
And, for some reason, my mother's need to document all my bathing suit choices
(these are not in order, obviously)
Why do we have professional photos of me in a swimsuit?
At the Beach with Daddy... don't hide it, those sunglasses, you know you want some.
pot belly trucker baby on the beach
that's right...the monosuit in SO 90s! With the new swimming pool at our Grandparents

Ride 'em

I'm following the fun (and Erika) with the first of several "Way Back Wednesday" posts.

You're welcome.

Ok, so I don't know if it was this way for you growing up, but having a 4-wheeler was the best of the best in the South Georgia summer. Lucky for us, farm life lends itself to four-wheelers. Here are some adventures we had with our kid-sized 4-wheeler and Daddy's full-size one.
(brushing out the infield at the Ball Park)
(cousin pile-up)
(in some parade in our hometown)

and don't worry..this is about to get much more interesting!!
