Jumping July

Well, July has rushed in and we are living life a little slower, which is nice, but still staying fairly busy.

I'm having a host of baby showers this month and as of today we are under the "4 weeks to go" mark for baby arrival. The nursery actually looks like a nursery, the hospital bag is beginning to look packed, and she is slowly but surely getting the things she needs to live and be clothed and those sorts of necessities... and of course, some fun stuff to have as well.

I resigned from my Children's Director position at the church. The easy answer being because of the baby... but its never as simple as just that... but that is a horse of a different color that doesn't need to be shaded in at this point in time.

Work is going good... my grace period as the "new kid on the block" has fizzled out, so my good guy and bad guy hats are now in full force in a variety of ways. But that's my job and if there is a way for me to help improve the system, then that's what I have to do. I'm trying to get everything streamlined before I have to leave with the baby, but its kind of hard to do - so much of what I do is determined on a a day-to-day, week-to-week basis, that I can't do much prep that will help whoever picks up my work while I'm gone. But there are several major undertakings that have been under my lead, so I definitely need to get those settled before I go out... otherwise, I become one of those people who starts strong, gets delays, and is thus ineffective... and I'm not a fan of that idea at all.

Michael has a new job at the school so he's no longer in the classroom effective July 1. This year he'll be half-time Technology Director and half-time Work-based Learning Coordinator... and then next year, he'll be full-time Technology Director.

I'm coming out of my spiritual funk.. but there are still some major obstacles and frustrations that are dominating that aspect of life... but they are burdens beyond blogging about.

We've been doing some massive cleaning up and cleaning out and its starting to feel like we can breathe again in the house. Mom and Dad came this weekend and did some "fairy" work on the yard and carport... I can actually park my car under there now... it looks amazing... like real people live there. Michael and I always have intentions of doing the clean-ups, and they stay on our to-do list, but there is always something that trumps it before the day is out... but its still super nice for everything to have and be in a place.
