As I am in my second consecutive day of non-queasiness, I am taking time to update this much neglected blog.
This week makes the first official known month of pregnancy.. which translates as.. I've successfully been queasy for 3 1/2 weeks. But first sonogram was survived, even though my whole body quivered during the entire thing (I was nervous! And cold!) ANd everything is on track. We heard the heartbeat and have dvd documentation for anyone who wants to see it. I've decided that pregnancy makes you hold nothing back, so I have no problems telling you the extent of any of my experiences thus far... just ask Mischa if you don't believe me.
We are picking up bridesmaids dresses for Mischa's wedding this week and I'm super pumped! I've never been a bridesmaid before!! I was a rice girl once.. and wore a placemat dress.. which I still harbor a grudge over... but I digress... The only thing not of help is that we won't really know if the dress will work or not until I start gaining my pregnancy weight, but I guess we'll find out how much room to grow I'll have. Mischa has also picked out her cake and had several successful showers.. a house full of goodness for Tony to enjoy until March.
Michael is gearing up for his comps on Feb. 2. Its basically an entire day of test by essay over all his work in the doctoral program. After this happens, we move on to the dissertation proposal and beginning of the paper writing. Wahoo... bring on the fun.
Church activities are off and running for the year and you are looking at the Children's Director, or rather reading her, so I excpect all of you to come help my fat pregnant self with that June 1-5. Its a western theme, and its going to be awesome.
In other news, we got a "new to us" refrigerator, as donated by Michael's parents, so all of our appliances match each other.. but the 1964 alvacado linolium (spelling, I have no clue) still stands fierce on the floor.
I also have picked up the first bit of decoration.. a project of itself.. for baby's room ... and have quite a little stack of baby gifts already.. I should probably write thank you notes for that.. that thought hasn't even crossed my mind... note to self: get on that.
We won't know about boy or girl until March.. and yes we will tell you ... but only if you agree to not buy everything in blue or pink.. variety is key.
Those are all my thoughts. enjoy and comment.
