Working 9-5

Greetings all!

The past week or so has been busy, as it turns out every week is, but life is good here in the big city!

I've started working with the Children's Choir at FBC and its proving to be a rewarding adventure. We are singing some praise songs that were near and dear to my heart when I was at Wesley in Athens as well as some new songs that are growing on me. I'm enjoying this oppurtunity to love on the kids at our church!

Michael and I will be traveling to Athens next week. He is presenting at a technology education (at least I think that is what the conference is about) conference at the Continuing Education Center on campus at UGA and I will be capitalizing on a chance to catch up with my long-lost Athens buddies.

Michael is now officially engrossed in class work and will be attended his second Saturday of class for the month this coming weekend.

My work at the paper is getting more routine and I think I'm getting better at it! I had a really great moment this week when an advertiser called me to say that she "loved" an ad I built for her! Then, when she came in to the office to pay for it, she gave me a candle! (Her business is candle sales, obviously) It was a really nice gesture that gives me the little extra boost of confidence to keep me happy admist all the other ads that I have to work tirelessly (and without much creative input) on!

In other news, I've officially been declared "not allowed to shop on credit alone" as my last two trips to the local stores have resulted in me purchasing things that I just wanted and didn't neccessarily need! Both are much fun - a Georgia trifle dish and a pewter square serving platter - and will come in handy for entertaining or just dressing things up!

I've also become quite the domesticated cook - in regards to dessert and fruit that is! I successfully made a fruit tray for a church fellowship (Lane as my witness, no comments regarding the actual cutting experience); a chocolate toffee trifle for friends and family gatherings (hence, I needed an offical trifle dish - and my mom can vouch for the taste!) and chocolate cheese bars for a scrapbooking weekend (once again refer to mom for validity).

And that catches us up for now!

Another week rolls on

Well, we here at the new Williams' house have made it through another week and weekend in the big city.

Work at the paper is going well and I'm starting to get a little more in the groove with how things are done (and how to do it on my own). The first two days of the week are always hectic since those are the days that we go to press, but all is well and manageable.

Michael has had quite a weekend preparing his boat, and new trolling motor, for a day out on the lake tomorrow. He'll be spending his MLK day out on the water while I'm working the day away at the newspaper. But there are no hard feelings there.

Today we started a new Bible study at the church on the gospel of Mark. Its for young couples and is looking to be discussion based so it should prove to be a growing experience and lots of fun since its all folks around our age!

We received our copy of the wedding DVD complete with ceremony, slideshow and reception this week and its quite a lovely reminder of the big day that now is almost a month past.

Michael is getting geared back into school mode as his first weekend of class for the spring semester approaches. I've picked up a "reading for fun" series of 12 which is quite entertaining to read, and helps me pass the time while he is being studious.

That's all I've got for now, its getting past my bedtime and my eyes are crossing so I should probably stop while I'm ahead. But not until I proclaim that I made quite the tasty chocolate toffee trifle this weekend for all to enjoy (mad shoutout to Megan Lewis, giver of the Fort Daniel Elementary School's A+ recipe book, which contained the tasty treat)

And lastly, I am the proud eater of venison backstrap... I had it for the first time Friday night and it was quite tasty!

Now I really am finished! Leave us a note and let us know you've been by.

Until next time,
Meghan & Michael

Welcome aboard!

So as our time of wedding planning and journaling has expired, we have decided (with my prompting) to pick up with the next segment of our lives, the segment Michael likes to call "The Life and Times of M & M." So lets get things started on a proper note by catching everyone up on what has been happening since the last entry of the Wedding Journal on Dec. 12.

December 14-15 were Athens days, where I finished my last day of finals and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia, complete with celebratory prancing through the Arch on North Campus. My parents, sister, grandmothers, Aunt Lisa, cousin April, and Michael were all along for the fun.

December 15-16 consisted of the rehearsal supper and rehearsal, last minute preparations and decorations, the day-of luncheon, lots of smiles and people and flashes, a beautiful ceremony, and wonderful reception complete with all of the traditional and non-traditional touches of our choice.

December 17-23 Michael and I spent en route to Ridgedale, Missouri where we stayed at Big Cedar Lodge. We spent the weekdays seeing the sites around Branson and took the last Friday and Saturday to return home.

The rest of December was filled with holiday adventures with family dinners and present swaps, a bowl game complete with snacking items on my Georgia serving platters and Michael and I enjoyed a week of getting the house settled while neither of us had to work.

January brought in the New Year and a fun time at Wild Adventures with my folks. Michael and I both started back to work on the 2nd. I'm working at the Early County News doing ad and page design, Michael is still teaching Business Education classes at ECHS. We've also enjoyed a yard sale with Mischa last Saturday and receiving our wedding DVD in the mail just this week.

The life and times around the newly formed Williams' household is all well and good. Be sure and come visit, give us a call or shoot us an e-mail. We'd love to show of our finally settled in house, photos from the honeymoon, wedding DVD and Michael's new trolling motor.

As the famous Bobcat would say,

Until Next Time,
Meghan & Michael
