it turns out that despite my lack of blogging, my panic button still works just fine.
you know, in case you were wondering.
I've decided that my panic button becomes basically irreversible at temps of 102.5 - 103.
as in,
can hardly breath so stressed about to take to doc or fight it out with med rotation.
needless to say, Bowen threw us a curveball of a fever yesterday out of nowhere.
its lower via medicine today,
so I've calmed the mostly panic, into internal panic over whether she is hydrated enough and where in the world did a 103 fever come from without anything else other than a runny nose anyway??
----
in other news, I really do intend on sharing some pictures some time soon...I've been less than impressed with most of the ones I have of our family thus far this year, but we've got some great opportunities with a few days of beach time this week, Easter and a wedding all this month!

Ok, so you may remember that Valentine's Day had a little escape in it this year....
turns out, my birthday now has a little early present called... a new transmission.
yes, seriously.
and yes, the problem started quite literally the DAY after the 30-day purchase warranty expired with the person from whom we bought it.
So... Happy Car-Related Presents for the whole year of 2012 to me!

Last night, at 10:30 p.m., when its way past her bedtime and she's in pinball mode strapped into her carseat on the way home..
in the sweetest little voice
Thank you God as this day ends (and thank you Boz for teaching this prayer)
For my family and my friends...
Taking time to sit and pray,
Thank you God for this great day
... and thank you for Breezy and Big Dave's house
...and thank you for the trip that Mama & Daddy wouldn't let me go on!
insert shocked mama face
Real Story: We were going shopping in Dothan. We asked the girls if they wanted to go with us or stay at Breezy's... they chose Breezy's, twice! So she wasn't told she couldn't go, ever!!
I can't believe that the 3-year old is dropping loaded prayers!!!

hi, remember me? I actually have a personal story...
Well, I think its probably high time I actually updated this family blog with some information about our family... whatcha think about that??
Well, where to start....
...let's see...
Bowen... oh Bowen, you little one are just something else... to try and pinpoint you in words is too hard and too long... you are vivacious in spirit... you love, laugh and throw tantrums with all that is in you. You love music.. you dance to anything that has more than 2 notes, regardless of where we are or where the music comes from.... you are my super eater... you are getting pickier at meal times, but for the most part you eat and eat and eat whenever the opportunity arises. You have learned sooo much from your big sister (probably because she talks all. the. time.) You can sing your abc's (even though you can't really understand all the letters) you can count to 10 and have most of the numbers between 11-20 down too... its ridiculous! You and Grady have such a special relationship... y'all are a mess together... y'all get in plenty of snatching and mine'ing but y'all play well and really get each other tickled! You are getting taller and still look just like your grandmama...and you definitely have your daddy's build, square through the shoulders and hips... but your curly hair is just fun and matches your wild personality too!
Hayley... girl, me and you and this whole "being 3" thing have had our days... you are so smart and ask a bazillion questions, and never miss the details... you have learned a lot at school and can have some very grown-up sounding conversations... you are still REALLY picky about your food...we never know if you are going to eat a bit, or ask for seconds, or not eat at all... you love music, but in a different way than your sister, you prefer to make up your own words and just "lalalaaaaa" about when you feel like singing. You have started telling Bowen "c'mere let sister make you feel better" when she is upset and its super sweet... you tend to be rough and rowdy and you get that from your daddy...but when you are loving, you are all about it. You love to be the teacher or the mama and its almost uncanny how you can mimic behaviors and inflection and tone!
Together - you girls love to watch Boz, "the singing songs" , What's in the Bible? on DVD. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is definitely Bowen's favorite (you can sing the theme song and the hot dog song) and Hayley, you go back and forth on Dora and whatever else strikes your fancy at the time as far as TV goes. You love to eat snacks and especially Mexican if we're going to a restaurant!
All in all, we've been busy with school and dance for Hayley this year and work and ministry for us this year... and now, we're going to start the potty training experience with Bowen!
We are looking forward to: an upcoming wedding, our first dance recital, our first family mission trip to Jaco, Bowen's 2nd birthday, Hayley's 4th birthday and all the other experiences that 2012 has in store for us!

Linked: Ministry Wives
Hi, my name is Meghan and I'm a ministry wife!
My husband and I work together in an outdoor focused outreach ministry called Clearwater Ministries (find us online here) which has culiminated all our activities and projects for Jesus together. We send out a monthly "newsletter" which doesn't have any news whatsoever in it, but instead 2 devotionals and a "fishin' buddies" spotlight on those near and dear to our hearts. Through Clearwater we have coordinated in participated Mission Trips, done speaking engagements and provided support and encouragement for other causes like our local Association, Fishermen for the Hungry, and whatever the Lord leads us to get involved in.
My husband also serves as bi-vocational Pastor at Bluffton Baptist Church, a small church of 18 members who are very faithful and very active in serving their community and the greater missions efforts. This is our first church "calling" as pastor & family. My husband and I were both active in a previous church as members of the Education and Children's ministry leadership team, but this is definitely our first round with full-time pastoral leadership.
As a less-than-2-years of ministry wife, I'm still the new kid on the block in many ways and as a family we are still trying to naviagate what ministry looks like for us now and what is left to come!
Welcome to my site... check out the Meet the Fam tab to see a little more about us and poke around as much as you like!

Invisible Children
hi, I'm Meghan and here's your Global Discussion update for today: (p.s. be prepared to spend 30 minutes watching this)
http://youtu.be/Y4MnpzG5Sqc
note: this video is all I've seen on this movement, I do not have detailed knowledge on the Invisible Children organization in order to endorse or discredit its actions, spiritual platforms or anything outside of this video; just throwing that out there.
.....
and yes, I will start actually posting about our life sometime in the near future.

call me crazy
Ok, so, am I the only one who sees craziness in this?
As you may know, Georgia voters in many districts went to the polls yesterday and among local decision making was the "Sunday Alcohol Sales" provisions.... that is, will it be legal in your county/town/whatever to seLL booze in any and all of its legal formats on Sundays (up until this time, this has been a pretty clear "NO" on the rules)
Whether you come down on either side of this debate, that's not what I'm wondering...
But I just read this in the AJC.. which if you read to the end says....
"approved for sale after 12:30 on Sundays"
ok, maybe I'm crazy, but REALLY?
Its not "you can sell or not sell" on Sunday... oh no, let's further detail this to... "well, I guess we're ok with selling it on Sunday...but not while people are in church... that would be offensive" (I'm only supposing here) But I mean, can't you just imagine the conversations on time frame and Sunday sales....
I mean, craziness... right??

pinning controversy
So, those of you who "pin" along in your spare time... have you read the ongoing controvery (or maybe even seen a pin about copyrights), something like this one....
regarding the pinterest nation and copyright infringement.... aka, what's on pinterest may not have been pinned originally by the person who made/photographed/created the pin that you see....
Read Here and Here for one of the more indepth conversations (and the response from Pinterest)
Basically... its the idea that someone's idea/product/labor of love... is blasted all over the interwebs (sometimes incorrectly...i.e. from search engine photos or without credit due)
So, ultimately, what its all about...is doing the research on your pins and being aware of where and what you are pinning is coming from.
SOOO... I'm not ready to part with all my "pins" for the sake of copyright (especially since we all know the likelihood of me completing even a fraction of them is next to none.)... but I do encourage you to join me in checking your "pins" out... be sure they link to the place that they were created (not to google image search or anywhere else).. if you really want to be a good "internet citizen" you can contact the photographers, chefs and others whose work you love, and get their permission to post their stuff on pinterest.... but if nothing else, check the link on the bottom of your pin, and at least get the direction of credit, headed to the right place.
Hi, my name is Meghan, and this is your not-very-frequent update on good internet citizenship.
you.are.welcome.
